Which Came First?
The Chicken Or The Egg?
In this series we are trying to realize that all of us have something in
common. When we were young, we never dreamed that we could grow up and
suddenly be just like everybody around us. Somehow, down through the
years it's almost like we we were funneled down this big shoot and we all
ended up wanting the same thing, looking the same, living in a house that
looks just like the other houses on the block. Then it hits us,
tomorrow is going to be just like today and tomorrows' tomorrow will be like
tomorrow. Some people call it a mid life crisis. What ever we
call it, we feel like all we can do is run. But running leaves a
string of broken hearts along the way.
Did you know that there was a way to make a change and it not hurt those
around us? We have to be willing to realize something profound.
Our decisions determine our outcomes. But the problem is, we think
that if we change decisions we will result in different outcomes. But
life doesn't work that way. If you are going to have different
outcomes you have to have different choices, but different choices won't
make a difference unless we are willing to change the underlying Beliefs.
But don't we do that? No. When you see a marriage that is
wonderful we ask questions like: What choices did you make that
resulted in a great marriage? Then we want to make those choices.
What made a great marriage was the great beliefs which governed those
decisions. So which comes first? Decisions or Beliefs.
We also need to ask, Who Comes First? Christians claim that God knows
what's best for their lives, but when it comes to acting on that, there is a
quick reversal and we suddenly think we know what's best, what will make us
happy. Somehow we have to settle that issue. It's easier said
than done.
The next two weeks wraps it up. This week we will look at a multi
generational truth: God is up to something in our world and We are
invited to participate. Talk about gaining purpose for life.

When I forget
something, I don't give God the praise or glory.
When we remember
the things that happen and what God has
done for us; inspite and because of those things,
We REALLY thank
God and give Him Praise and Glory.
